As part of its mission to facilitate collaboration between government and industry, ACT-IAC sponsors several major conferences and events. These are:
MOC
The Management of Change (MOC) was created in 1989 by the Federation of Government Information Processing Councils (ACT’s predecessor). Conference attendance is limited to 450 people with a government to industry ratio of 1:3. MOC tends to attract more program managers and state and local government officials than other ACT/IAC events. The 32nd annual Management of Change conference will be held in Cambridge, MD on June 3-5, 2012.
ELC
The ELC is considered by many to be the premier conference in the government IT community. Since the first ELC in 1990 in Charlottesville, Virginia, ELC has brought together the leaders of the government IT community. Senior industry executives and government officials meet at ELC to exchange information, support professional development, improve communications and build partnerships to enhance the government’s ability to serve the nation’s citizenry. ELC attendance is limited to 850 executives with a government to industry ratio of 1:3. The Executlve Leadership Conference is held in October at Colonial Williamsburg in Williamsburg, VA.
SBC
Recognizing the importance of small businesses to the government IT community, ACT-IAC sponsors a conference each spring focused on the unique needs and benefits of small businesses. The conference is intended to provide information to help small businesses succeed in the government marketplace and to promote the value of small businesses to the government and large corporations seeking small business partners. The conference is held in the Washington, DC area.
Program Events
In addition to the above conference, ACT-IAC sponsors a number of program events annually to provide opportunities for government and industry executives to exchange information and ideas. These events usually have a senior government executive as a speaker or a panel of experts on a particular subject. The events range from small intimate gatherings to lunches with over 150 attendees.
IAC Membership Meetings
Four times annually, IAC sponsors a meeting for the IAC membership. Each meeting includes an update on key organizational activities, a government speaker or panel, and a networking reception. Attendance is free to all IAC and ACT members.
