Welcome and Opening Keynote
A. John Shoraka, Associate Administrator of Government Contracting and Business Development at the Small Business Administration will open ACT-IAC's 6th annual Small Business event. 

As keynote speaker, he will share his insights on how small businesses can leverage opportunities in the federal contracting arena.  Aligned with the conference theme, Shoraka will offer his advice on how small businesses can "accelerate and achieve" in the current economic climate. And, he'll share his insights on how SBA works to create an environment that maximizes participation by small, disadvantaged and woman owned businesses and shapes federal procurement policies that impact small businesses.  Shoraka will emphasize the important role that small businesses play in the economy and in driving innovation and competitiveness.

Overview of small business issues by senior policy officials. What does government want?
 How can small businesses participate? This session will examine the impact of legislation and policy on departments, agencies, small and large businesses.

As an innovative approach to workshop sessions, this year's attendees will have an opportunity to hear from nine leading Federal Government Departments and Agencies.  The panels will feature individuals from the CIO office, the program office, the acquisition office, and the Office of Small Business.  So that attendees may take advantage of this unique opportunity, these workshops will be hosted three times throughout the summit.  The panelists will provide insight into of the current challenges facing their Departments.  This will help attendees to design future strategies that will provide creative and efficient solutions to their customers.

A dedicated segment of the SBC is to allow participants to meet the exhibitors at the conference.  It is a prime opportunity to meet federal agencies exhibiting, such as GSA and DHS, as well as industry leading companies looking for small businesses to support their efforts.  This is a specific time frame to meet directly with decision makers, potential government acquisition and program leads in a single location in addition to companies potentially looking for project partners.

A Conversation with the Federal CIOs
Join us for the final session of the "SBC" as the panel of Federal Chief Information Officers engage in a lively discussion, moderated by Wyatt Kash of AOL Government. The CIOs will shed light on the expanding of the federal CIO, the role of CIO Council, its' key initiatives and updates on committee work in the areas of: Strategy and Planning, Information Security, and Best Practices. The CIOs will also expand on what's on the horizon in 2012-13 in their own agencies and how they're achieving their agency's mission in the current, challenging budget environment. The CIOs will also offer insights and key messages for the small business community.
