Golf outing on June 20 before the GSA Network Services Conference in Orlando
The 2010 GSA Network Services Conference will be held at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida June 21-24. A first-rate golf course, Shingle Creek Golf Club, is on the grounds of the conference facility and hotel.
Golfers from government and industry have expressed interest in playing at the course prior to the start of the conference. ACT-IAC volunteers are facilitating an informal golf outing. It will be held on Sunday June 20 with a shotgun start at 8:30 am. Shingle Creek is holding up to 100 slots for those attending the conference. The fee per person including cart is $44.00. This is an excellent rate for a course of this quality in Orlando!
This is an informal event without sponsors, prizes or an official format. Interested golfers should contact colleagues, customers, friends to form their own foursome or simply register to play. If you are interested in golfing in this event we will include you in with a group or with other single players.
NOTE: The club’s on-line Tee Time reservation system will not accommodate this outing. Each golfer must submit a credit card authorization form or master account form prior to play so the club can just charge you on the day of play and not have the individuals worry about coming into the golf shop to pay the morning of June 20. Upon indicating your intent to play by email you will be sent the credit card authorization form and master account form. Please do not call the golf shop or hotel reservations to enroll in this event. If you call reservations they do not have any way of tracking golf event participants so it must be handled through our volunteer committee at first. We will coordinate the groupings, keep tabs on number of players and communicate between the interested players and the golf shop. The pro shop will not be able to register and take payments from large numbers of golfers prior to the 8:30 start.
We will maintain a list of golfers who registered to play so we may track the number against the limit of 100. If you are interested in playing please send an email to ACT-IAC volunteer Mike Brennan at mlbrennan@intellifiber.com with your interest to play. Include in the subject line of the email “Shingle Creek Golf June 20.” If you can form a group of 2, 3 or 4 players please feel free to do so and indicate who the players are including their email address when you register with Mike. If you just want to play and are a single please sign up!
Since this is an informal event, there will not be an announcement on the GSA conference web site. We would like to spread the word to both government and industry golfers. This email is being sent to the mailing list of the ACT-IAC Network and Telecom SIG but also please inform your government colleagues and customers and others that you think would be interested.
If you have any questions please contact Mike Brennan at 571-323-1809. We look forward to seeing you at this Shingle Creek golf event on June 20 and at the GSA Network Services Conference in Orlando.
